Fight! Fight! Fight!
In the latest news involving Russia and Georgia, Russian Prime Minister Putin claims, in a state released interview, that the U.S. intentionally provoked to conflict with Georgia for the benefit of one of the presidential candidates. Russian troops who were retreating from the battlefield confiscated a U.S. National Passport on the Georgian side. The passport is said to belong to a Michael Lee White, born in 1967, and issued in Houston, Texas. In his interview, Putin says that "If my suspicions are confirmed, in that case the suspicion arises that somebody in the United States has intentionally created this conflict with the aim of making the situation more tense and creating a competitive advantage for one of the candidates fighting for the post of U.S. president." It is unclear whether the benefitiary would be McCain or Obama. White House Spokeswoman Dana Perino said that Putin's allegations, made in an interview on CNN, were false, and the U.S. State Department thinks that it was "ludicrous" that Russia did not take responsibility of it's actions in Georgia.
